Finding The Force….
“It fills all worlds,
It binds and unites one kind to another,
Upper with lower,
And the four elements do not cohere,
Except through it, as it is within them….”
Does this sound like a description of the Force from Star Wars? For comparison, here is how Obi Wan Kenobi describes the Force.
“It’s an energy field created by all living things,
It surrounds us and penetrates us,
It binds the galaxy together….”
The first quote is, actually, a passage from the Zohar describing how the Divine fills and penetrates all of existence. In Hebrew, this process is known memaleh (filling) and seems to echo the concept of the Force in Star Wars.
